The Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) announced that Mullah Bashir, Taleban shadow district governor for Nerkh district, was killed in an operation conducted by the Afghan Police’s Special Forces Unit in the province. A press release from MoI stated that the incident happened yesterday evening. The statement further stated that two armed bodyguards of Mullah Bashir were injured and some ammunition and weapons were seized. There were no civilian or military casualties. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
