One protester was killed and four injured during clashes with security forces in Kabul last night. Leaders of Uprising for Change Movement said that security forces tried to dismantle their tents but was met with severe resistance by the protesters. Fardows Aryayi, one of the movement’s leaders, told Killid that Afghan security forces have taken five protesters into custody including some of their leaders. He claimed that security forces tried to disperse protesters by firing and pouring boiling water on them. Meanwhile General Mohammad Salim Almas, head of criminal investigation department at Kabul police, told Killid that a delegation from Kabul police has been sent to the area and their findings will be shared with media after completion of the investigation. Protesters have been holding a sit-in demonstration in the city since early this month after protesting against the lack of security in the country following the May 31 truck bombing in Kabul that killed over 150 people.
