The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Kabul this morning. A press release from UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) stated that Guterres’ trip to Afghanistan shows UN solidarity with Afghanistan in such critical situation. This is his first visit of Guterres to Afghanistan after he took over as Secretary General. Earlier Under-Secretary General Jan Kubis had come to Kabul for a two-day visit in the interest of completing a Security Council-requested strategic review of UNAMA and its work in Afghanistan.
