Presidential palace (ARG) welcomed the Attorney General’s Office decision on suspension of Gul Nabi Ahmadzai, the commander of Kabul Garrison, and Hasan Shah Frogh, chief of Kabul police. “The attorney general of Afghanistan launched a transparent investigation into the incident, in line with that the job of the Kabul police chief, and the Kabul garrison commander has been suspended,” said AGO spokesman Jamshid Rasuli. A press release from ARG stated that over the past week the government has been in touch with members of the national assembly and has discussed the demands of the people with regards to the recent incidents. A number of citizens launched protest against government for failing to prevent attack in Kabul city following the May 31 deadly struck bombing in Wazir Akbar Khan area, which resulted in killing and injuring of hundreds of civilians.
