Hizb-e-Islami expressed concerns over the current situation in Afghanistan, especially Kabul. Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hizb-e-Islami, addressed a press conference today and asked the protesters to bring a change in their strategy. He said that a public demonstration is every Afghans’ rights but any move to close the roads or overrun the ARG (presidential palace) was not acceptable. Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of downtown Kabul on Friday in a bid to march on the Presidential Palace. They had been protesting against Wednesday’s massive truck bomb in the city that killed over 150 people. Hekmatyar added that Hizb-e-Islami accepts the system and encouraged the nation to do the same.
