A massive explosion rocked Kabul city at about 8:23 am today. Preliminary reports suggest that the explosives were placed inside a water tanker. It is reported that the explosion took place in Wazir Akbar Khan area of Kabul but the exact target is not yet known. A security source speaking on the condition of anonymity told Killid that the target was a military compound in the area. Meanwhile head of Wazir Akbar Khan hospital, Gul Ahmad Ayubi, told Killid that 20 killed and 90 injured were transferred to the hospital. Wahidullah Majroh, spokesman for Ministry of Public Health, said that more than 49 people were killed and 319 injured. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
