Security officials in Badghis province said that at least 53 Taleban insurgents were either killed or injured in Afghan security forces’ clearing operation in parts of the province. A press release from Zafar 207 Corps stated that the operation codenamed ‘Zafar 17’ was conducted in Qads district. The statement added that 26 Taleban insurgents were killed and 27 injured. The statement did not provide information regarding the number of casualties among Afghan security forces. Taleban militants have not commented on the statement yet.
