Officials at the Ministry of Public Health reported that the second spring polio campaign will begin today. A press release from health ministry stated that the ambitious three-day campaign will immunise 9.5 million children less than five years old across the country. Health Minister Firozuddin Firoz said that polio is a child killer and the vaccine is the only protection against the disease. Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria are the only countries where polio is still prevalent.
