Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif asserted that there should not be distinctions between extremist and violent groups in Afghanistan and the region. Zarif, who is heading a high-ranking political delegation to Kabul, addressed a joint press conference with Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani and stated that Afghanistan and Iran need to cooperate with each other in areas of economy, infrastructure and transit. He also asserted the needs for combating terrorism and sectarianism without making any distinction between terrorist groups. The status of Afghan migrants was also discussed during the meeting.
