National Security Council (NSC) lamented the negligence of security officials that led to the attack on Shaheen 209 Military Crops in Balkh and asserted that the guilty will be held accountable in order to prevent such deadly incidents in the future. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that President Ashraf Ghani presided over a NSC meeting yesterday evening. The statement added that ministers of defence and security sectors provided their reports and reviews of the security situation in Helmand, Uruzgan, Kunduz, Faryab, Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Badghis, and Maidan Wardak. NSC praised Afghan security forces for suppressing and crushing armed anti-government groups and instructed the security institutions to provide more security and eliminate insurgents’ threats.
