At least 57 Taleban insurgents were killed or injured in infighting between two groups of Taleban in Shendand district. Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor, told Killid that the clash over the past 24 hours involved armed supporters of Mullah Samad and Mullah Nangyalai. Farhad added that 18 of Mullah Samad’s men were killed and 23 injured during the clash. He further stated that eight of Mullah Nangyalai’s men were also killed and nine injured. Taleban fighters have not commented on the incident yet.
