Local officials in Badakhshan said that at least four people were killed in floods triggered by heavy rainfall in several districts of the province. Sayed Abdullah Homayon Dehqan, provincial director of Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), said that the floods occurred over the past two days in Derayam, Teshkan, and Yaftal districts, killing at least four people and destroying tens of residential houses. Meanwhile Imam Ali Hamdami, district governor of Yaftal, said that heavy snowfall killed more than 50 cattle. ANDMA officials said that food supplies will be distributed to the effected families soon.
