Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament) today cut salaries and other privileges of five members for being absent for a long period of time. Earlier MPs had decided to suspend, cut salaries and other privileges of members who remain absent for 20 consecutive days in a month. The privileges of Amanullah Gozar, Mullah Ezat Atef, Alam Khan Azadi, Per Bakhsh Gardival, , and Ehsaq Rahgozar were cut over prolonged absence today. On April 12 Wolesi Jirga suspended Bashir Ahmad Tayanj, Ahmad Behzad, Parvin Durrani, and Freshta Anwari for being absent for a long period of time.
