Prominent Hizb-e-Islami Commander Back in Afghanistan

Local officials in Nangarhar said that a prominent Hizb-e-Islami commander returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan yesterday. Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, said that Maulavi Shamurahman Daneshyar, a prominent commander of the party, returned to the country on the request of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hizb-e-Islami.  Khogyani added that Daneshyar was former governor of Laghman and is now member of the party’s military commission. Khogyani hoped that upon the return of the commanders and members of the party to the country, the basis for peace and stability would be provided. Meanwhile reports suggest that Hekmatyar will appear in one of the provinces in the next few days.
