Local officials in Sar-e-Pol province said that three women and a child were killed in a mortar shell in Ghorband area of Sayad district last night. Mohammad Zahir Wahdat, provincial governor, said that there are two types of reports regarding the incident. He added that the first report shows that a mortar shell was fired by Taleban on the village in which four people were killed but the second report states that the slain civilian were shot dead by Taleban on charges of spying. The governor reiterated that security and intelligence institutions have launched an investigation for further clarification. Meanwhile Taleban denied killing three women and a child. In Logar province, a man and a woman were shot dead by Taleban insurgents in the province. Salim Saleh, spokesman for Logar governor, said that they were residents of Abbarek village of Mohammad Agha district and they were allegedly shot dead on charges of adultery.
