Addressing a press conference today in Kabul, former Afghan president Hamid Karzai criticised the US over the bombing of Achin district in Nangarhar, and said he has decided to rescue Afghanistan from US oppression. He said he will oust the US from the country even if no one helps him. Karzai further stated that the attack was a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and said that he no longer recognises the National Unity Government (NUG) as either his or the country’s representative. He further stated that the government has committed high treason by allowing the US to drop such a big non-nuclear bomb. Earlier ARG (presidential palace) had confirmed that it was aware of the plan ahead of the bombing. On Thursday night the US military dropped America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb on an alleged Daesh cave and tunnel complex in Achin district of Nangarhar in which at least 92 Daesh militants were killed.
