Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament) today suspended four members for being absent for a long period of time. Earlier MPs had decided to suspend, cut salaries and other privileges of the members who remain absent for 20 consecutive days in a month. The decision was taken today in parliament’s plenary session. Bashir Ahmad Tayanj, Ahmad Behzad, Parvin Durrani, and Freshta Anwari were suspended. The suspended MPs have not commented on the issue yet.
