Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that the current security situation in Faryab province is not satisfactory. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that the president met with elders and Members of Parliament (MPs) of Faryab yesterday evening in ARG. Qadratulah Zaki and Sardar Mohammad Rahman Oghlo, both MPs, reiterated their support for the National Unity Government (NUG) and President Ghani’s economic development plans. Meanwhile President Ghani said that a comprehensive review of the Northern Provinces is underway and assured the security of vulnerable provinces is a priority for the government. Ghani asked elders of the province to have a clear and consensual review so that the government can do fundamental things in the areas of security and economic development.
