Afghanistan and Britain Reiterate Joint Fight against Terrorism

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani spoke with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson by phone yesterday evening. The two discussed terrorism as a common threat to humanity and pledged to jointly fight it. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that the two sides discussed security and political situation of Afghanistan and region and emphasised expansion of cooperation between the two countries. President Ghani stressed that sustainable relations between Kabul and London is important for security of Afghanistan and region. During the telephone conversation, President Ghani condemned the attack outside the British Parliament in the strongest terms and called terrorism a threat to humanity. The British foreign secretary thanked Afghan president for expressing his sympathy over the London attack and reaffirmed his country’s continued support to Afghanistan.
