Security officials in Nangarhar reported that 16 Daesh militants were killed and tens of others injured in Kot district of the province last night. Sher Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for Selab 201 Corps, told Killid that the militants were killed in Afghan security forces’ ground and aerial operations. He added the operations were conducted in Janjal Ghonde area of the district. Faqiri further stated that Afghan security forces destroyed some weapons and ammunitions of the insurgents. Daesh militants have not commented on the incident yet. Kot is a volatile district in Nangarhar where armed anti-government groups including Taleban are actively operating.
