Taleban insurgents cut off a man’s hands and feet on charges of theft in Obay district of Herat. Local officials in Herat said that the incident happened yesterday evening. Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Nangarhar governor, said that the motive behind the incident is not yet known and an investigation is underway. Meanwhile Sher Aqa Alikozay, chief of police district, said that Taleban charged the man of theft. He added that the barbaric act was committed by Mullah Ghawsuddin, a local Taleban commander. Mohamad Rafiq Sherzai, spokesman for Herat Hospital, said that the man was admitted to the hospital last night and added that he was in critical condition. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
