An explosion followed by gunfire was reported inside Sardar Dawood Khan Hospital around 9 am in the vicinity of Wazir Akbar Khan in Kabul. Dawlat Waziri, a spokesman for the defense ministry, confirmed the explosion and said that security forces are on location fighting the attackers. He added that the exact number of casualties is yet to be known. Meanwhile some doctors at the hospital said that the attackers were dressed in doctors’ clothes and entered the second and third floors of the hospital. The hospital is for military personnel. No group has claimed responsibility.
