At least three local police were killed in a mine explosion in Baghlan province yesterday evening. Abdul Alim Ghafari, an official from the provincial heath department, said that the incident happened at a military base in Cheshma Sheer area of the province. He added that one injured person, who was in critical condition, was transferred to the hospital. Baghlan security officials are yet to comment on the incident. No group has claimed responsibility. Baghlan is among relatively disturbed provinces where armed anti-government oppositions are actively operating in parts of the province and launch attacks against Afghan security forces frequently.
