A number of Kunduz citizens are worried about the city’s fall to Taleban militants with the onset of spring but Asadullah Amarkhail, Kunduz governor, said that they are fully prepared to crush and suppress armed anti-government oppositions and will not allow Taleban militants to recapture the city again. He said that security checkpoints have been created and Afghan security forces have been deployed to secure the city. Commander of 800 Spenghar Zone said that armed anti-government oppositions have weakened and Afghan security forces will thwart any possible attack. Meanwhile Abdul Hamid, chief of Kunduz police, asserted that following death of Mullah Abdul Salam, former Taleban shadow governor of Kunduz, Taleban have lost their morale and can no longer resist Afghan security forces in the province.
