Transparent Elections in Afghanistan Next Solar Year

President Ashraf Ghani said that Afghan people want a better and transparent election and the government is committed to a transparent election in the next solar year. President Ghani discussed the issue in a consultative meeting with the Independent Election Commission (IEC)  at the Presidential Palace (ARG) yesterday evening. An ARG press release stated that Mark Brown of ICT Company made a presentation on the use of new technologies in the electoral process and voter registration.  Brown stressed that new technologies will help transparency in Afghanistan and reduce the cost of elections. Meanwhile Najeebullah Ahmadzai, head of IEC, said that the commission will do studies and hold consultation on usage of the technology in the election.
