Presidential Palace (ARG) reported that President Ashraf Ghani talked with new US National Security Adviser (NSA) Herbert Raymond Macmaster by phone yesterday evening. An ARG press release stated the two spoke on the security situation in Afghanistan and region, counter-terrorism, Afghanistan’s four-year security plan and parliamentary election. The statement added that NSA Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, head of National Directorate of Security Mohammad Masoum Stanekzai, and Senior Presidential Advisor on Public and Strategic Relations Ahmad Nader Naderi were also present during the talk. The phone conversation is after deadly suicide attacks that killed and injured dozens of people in Kabul city on Wednesday.
