Local officials in Bamyan province reported that a teenage girl aged 18 was killed by a boy yesterday. Abdul Hamid Mubarez, governor of Yaka Walang district, told Killid that the incident happened yesterday morning in Danda area of the district. The perpetrator is the girl’s relative. The district governor further stated that the motive behind the incident is not yet known and asserted that investigation is underway. Mubarez said that the boy had surrendered to the police but the girl’s family has pleaded for his release. Mubarez added that the girl’s family claims that their daughter was killed unintentionally by the boy. Meanwhile a tribal elder in the district said that the young boy and girl loved each other but their families had rejected their marriage proposal. Seven women have been killed over the last two months in the province by unknown armed men.
