Tehran to Cooperate with Afghanistan to Fight Drugs

Iranian Interior Ministry officials announced that Tehran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the fight against drug cultivation and trafficking. IRNA news agency reported that Afghan Minister of Counter Narcotic met with Iranian Interior Minister Abdul Reza Rahmani in Tehran yesterday. Rahmani said regional countries must work together jointly to fight this phenomenon. He suggested Afghan counter narcotic minister must select a substitute for drug cultivation in the country and asserted that Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in this regard. Rahmani has proposed his Afghan counterpart deal with human trafficking and its negative consequences by issuing 3-6 months work visa for Afghan citizens. He further pledged to train Afghan counter narcotic police.
