NSC: Implementation of Peace Accord with Hizb-e-Islami

The National Security Council (NSC) has reiterated full implementation of the peace accord with Hizb-e- Islami party. A press release from NSC sent to Killid stated that President Ashraf Ghani has instructed relevant bodies to facilitate the main provisions of the agreement including release of Hizb-e-Islami political prisoners and distribution of land to returning Hizb-e-Islami. The peace agreement between Hizb-e- Islami and the government was signed last year in September. Recently the UN has removed Hizb leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar from a blacklist. The party is yet disarm its military establishment.
