The First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum expressed serious concerns over possibility of Daesh growing stronger in the country. He told reporters last night that Daesh is strong in northern parts of the country and warned that security forces face a tough war season in the coming year. He added that Daesh militants will come from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan, and stated that some Daesh families have already been deployed to Faryab province. Dostum urged the international community, specially the US, to support and equip Afghan security forces. He called on government leaders to practice good governance, support the country and the people as well as keep ‘real unity’ in the nation. Meanwhile Dostum denied his residence was under siege, and said security forces had besieged the area because of security threats.
