Some 22 people were killed and injured in an explosion in Jani Khail district of Paktika today. Mohammad Rahman Ayaz, spokesman for Paktika governor, said that bomb planted in a motorbike went off around 11:00 am today in the centre of the district killing at least three people and injuring more than 19. The spokesman said that all the victims were civilians. He asserted that the injured were transferred to nearby hospital and their condition was stable. Meanwhile eyewitnesses condemned the attack and said that scores of civilians were injured in the explosion. Officials in the provincial civilian hospital said that eight injured were transferred to the hospital two of whom were in critical condition. No group has claimed responsibility.
