Torkham, Spin boldak Borders Remain Closed for Second Day

Torkham, Ghulam Khan, and Spin boldak border ports have remained closed for the second day following a series of deadly attacks in Pakistan. Hundreds of stranded passengers including women and children are anxiously waiting for opening of the borders so that they could start their journey toward their destination. Meanwhile Presidential Palace (ARG) in reaction to the closure of Torkham and Spin Boldak border ports said that sealing of the borders is not the way of tackling terrorism. Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs also condemned closure of the border and asserted that the move could accelerate insecurity. Abdul Ghafor Lewal, acting border and tribal affairs minister, said that if Pakistan hinders the movement of people across the border by force and tyranny, it will have adverse consequences.
