Security officials in Uruzgan reported that security forces launched a joint military operation in eastern Trinkot yesterday evening and made progress of 23 kms. Rahmatullah Sediqi, acting chief of Uruzgan police, said that Sofra Karez, Saraqala, Bedak Karez and some other parts of the province were recaptured from Taleban. He stressed that Afghan security forces have dealt a heavy blow to the Taleban militants but the exact figure is yet to be known. Meanwhile Afghan security forces in the area said that they could easily recapture the areas of Taleban and armed anti-government insurgents cannot resist. They asserted that they will fight with armed anti-government oppositions until their last drop of blood and will bravely fight for their country. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the issue. Taleban dominate parts of the provincial capital, Trinkot, and some districts in the province.
