Security officials in the east of the country reported that security forces launched Shaheen 26 operation in Chirhar district of Nangarhar to crush armed anti-government opposition in Nangarhar. Shariq Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for 201 Selab Corps, told Killid that the operation targeted the opposition in Kundi Bagh, Trelai, Trarakoh, and Ghazwa in the district. He stressed that the operation will continue until all armed fighters are wiped out of the areas. Chirhar is a restive district in Nangarhar where Taleban and Daesh militants are actively operating.
