Local officials in Balkh province said that two people were killed and five others injured in a blast in Mazar-e-Sharif City, provincial capital of Balkh province yesterday. Abdul Razaq Qaderi, deputy police chief for Balkh province, told media yesterday evening that the explosives planted in a local militia commander Haji Zamaray’s car went off as people were leaving Buzkashi match. He added that Haji Zamaray along with his driver was killed and five others injured. It is reported that Haji Zamaray was the target of the blast. No insurgent group, including Taleban, has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
