Agreement between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Azhar Private Institute of Higher Education
For the first time, an agreement between the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled and Azhar Private Institute of Higher Education has been signed which will pave the ground for the education of the children of Martyred and Disabled people with 50% discount.
As per the National Constitution of Afghanistan, the government is compelled to pave the ground for the education of disabled people and allocate 5% of the scholarships to the disabled people.
During the session which was held for the signing of this agreement, Ms. Suraya Paikan, the Deputy Minister of Martyred and Disabled Affairs said, everyone has the right for Education. Therefore, both Public and Private Institutes of Education should deem this their duty to pave the ground for the education of the children of Martyred and Disable People and encourage them for gaining education. Ms. Paikan added, “Enhancement in education will result in the reduction of insecurity and we are grateful to Azhar Private Institute of Higher Education for the step they have taken in this regard”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abubakar Mutaqi, the Chairman of Azhar Private Institute of Higher Education while expressing his pleasure in signing the agreement mentioned that they will provide education to the children of Martyred and Disabled people from the preliminary to advanced levels. Mr. Mutaqi said, “We believe that by the grace of education, our country will have a bright future. Therefore, we decided to establish Azhar Private Schools and Higher Education Institute in order to provide education opportunities for all our countrymen and women particularly the children of Martyred and Disabled People”.
This agreement has been signed at a time when no real step has been taken throughout the country to provide education opportunities for the children of Martyred and Disabled people. This negligence has resulted in increasing the problems of the families of Martyred and Disabled People.
