Dear readers! As you know our countrymen endured many losses and problems within decades of war as millions of martyrs, disabled and refugees are the result of the mentioned wars but the psychological situation of the people is a part that has been damaged badly and needs great attention. Though war has ended by bless of God and the country is in rehabilitation but still there are problems such as joblessness, economic and cultural poverty, security and educational concerns that exists that needs time and many efforts to be improved.
The problems and wars have put bad effects on psychological health of people as many people are affected by psychological illnesses.
The lack of psychologists, doctors of psychology and awareness of people has made the issue more complicated.
So many governmental and non-governmental organizations came to existence to serve the women in health, economics and re-enabling, Medica Afghanistan is one of the mentioned organizations that provides grounds of legal, educational, social, health educations and psychological assistances to women that have been damaged by wars, violence and other disasters in Kabul, Hirat and Mazar Sharif provinces, the mentioned organization has the psychological treatment department as well that the doctors of psychology in the mentioned department treat the girls and women injured by the violence individually and in groups through its psychological and consultative services in Kabul , Mazar and Hirat provinces..
The psychological consultation centers are available in Kabul female jail, Kabul Children and young correction center, women garden located in Shahr Ara of Kabul, Kabul safe houses and in 5th, 7th, 11th, 13th districts of Kabul city, beside the mentioned centers literacy courses also have been established in six different districts of Kabul city for the injured women and girls who gets group psychological consultations.
Shah Bi Bi is a benefitted woman of Medica psychological consultations services who have been affected by psychological illness due to decades of war and family violation, she says: Medica Afghanistan provides six months psychological consultations and trainings, group practices to patients like me, I feel health changes in my body since two months that I have been here I hope I get recovered from psychological illness when I stay here for four more months and start my ordinary life again.
Now I would like draw your attention to her interview, she says about the causes that she has been entangled with psychological illness and the signs of the mentioned illness, “ I got this illness due to violence, when I feel cheerless, I feel to cry, I get angry on my children and beat them, my two sons died due to war years back so I faced psychological difficulties, I was working in women garden of Shahr Ara of Kabul that I was taken to Medica Afghanistan, since two months I am under psychological treatments and consultation and group practices of Medica Afghanistan, as my body has weakened a lot due to psychological illness so the mentioned organization gives me protean as well that my body get the strength, each phase has six months as I have passed two months of it, I hope that all my problems be solved by completion the six months, and get rid of psychological illness.
Question: How beneficial is the work out of home for the women?
Answer: It is clear that working out of home is beneficial specifically for women for example as I was at home my psychological problems were increasing day by day, I was losing my patience, I could not grow my children properly, but when I started work out of the house according to my ability my economic and health situation improved a lot, if I was at home I would be unaware and deprived from the mentioned facilities.
Question: How many other women are with you when you get psychological treatments from Medica Afghanistan?
Answer: There are 30 women with me in the class who get psychological consultations from Medica Afghanistan as changes have occurred in their life, we share our problems and secrets with each other and find solution ways for problems, when our problems and concerns are repelled we would be able to raise our children properly, I am very grateful from Medica Afghanistan.
Question: Can you give us more details about the consultations that you get?
Answer: These are all the consultations that are given us by female psychologists doctors, they say us not to remember the issues that toils us rather we should share them with neighbor women, they also tell us to have good behavior with neighbors, it is fact whenever I have faced any grief I have been become happy when I have talked with my neighbor and my problem has also solved and this action has brought many happiness to my life.
Question: What is your message for the women that have the similar psychological illnesses as you have?
Answer: My message to other women not to grieve, talk with their families and neighbors, if they face big problem they can come to Medica Afghanistan like us to get psychological treatment.
Question: What are the benefits of education for the life of women?
Answer: The education is beneficial for all people specifically for women, because if the woman has education and literacy neither she nor her children would face the difficulties in the life because the literate women can help their children in all fields, they would be able to raise / grow properly their children and they would not face with psychological difficulties but as we have not gotten education we are faced with many problems, I want my children get education that they would not be unhappy like me in future.
Question: Can deliver service to community and themselves those who are entangled with psychological illnesses?
Answer: Those who have psychological illnesses neither can serve the community nor themselves because a sick cannot carry out any activity specifically a person entangled with psychological illness doesn’t has the patience, it would not behave well the people, it would be always sad and away from the community and would feel alone always from the community.
Question: Will you teach whatever you have learned in this organization to other women when you complete six months?
Answer: I would share all the consultations and practices that I have gotten here to other sick women and would talk about the educations and consultation that I have gotten.
Question: What is your message to men who behave violently with their wives or their daughters in the families?
Answer: My message to all men is to stop violence against their wives and daughters, if a man misbehave his wife or beat her in fact in fact he might have damaged his wife and children because when a woman don’t have proper health she would not be able to grow her children properly and would not be able to accomplish the works in house properly, their children would also learn violence from the fathers and would practice in their life and would not be happy in the life so due to this I would like to request all the men not to annoy the life of their wives rather they should provide ground of education and support them.
Question: What type of programs must be broadcasted and shown in TVs and radios?
Answer: It is a fact that many TVs and radios have been established but none of them has the program that would be beneficial to us or our children and we would learn some things to use in our lives rather they have programs that mislead our children and annoy us.
