Behavior of security organs with women

Dear readers! Greetings to you! I am Mohammad Nasim Lalahand , I want to be  again at your service to present a roundtable through program of Campaign for Change of Life, the guests in this roundtable are Mrs. Jamila Stanekzai the law defendant in Medika Afghanistan NGO, Mrs. Maryam Zurmati the assistant of women rights support and development department of regional office of Afghanistan Human Rights Independent Commission and Hashmatullah Stanekzai the spokesman of Kabul Security Commandment, the issue of the roundtable is behavior of security organs with women, I would like to thank them for attending the roundtable.

Question: How is the women situation in general in Afghanistan?

Answer: Mrs.Stanekzai:We should not forget that many facilities have been prepared for women within past ten years, they have been served a lot, as our community is an Islamic community but the people abuse the name of Islam and implemented indecent customs on women so we see that many women are faced with numerous problems.

Answer: Mrs.Zurmati: It is right, our country is a mountainous country faced with many wars which has caused that indecent customs overcome the law, specifically the entrance of strange customs also put bad effects on the country, the low economic level of people and lack of access to educational and health facilities are also problems that our community is faced with, if we investigate all the mentioned problems we will find out that the women and children have been badly affected as weak part of the community.

Question: Mr.Hashmatullah Stanekzai! How do assess the contribution of women in police and other security forces ranks?

Answer: To reply your question I cannot say anything in the level of the country, but looking at the role of women in Kabul Security Commandment I can say that their role is very beneficial in improvement the security in Kabul because the female police are working beside every male police in all gates of Kabul, they also participate in military operations beside the men and have effective role in arresting the women criminals.

Question: Mr.Hashmat! Why the women have less contribution in police and other security organs of the provinces?

Answer: Because the people in remote areas and provinces are obedient to ancient customs and respect them, so they see the work of women with men a shame on the other hand they don’t have public awareness and they don’t know about the role of women in ensuring the security so the role of women in security forces of the provinces is pale.

Question: Mrs.Stanekzai! How effective is the violence of women on women in the community?

Answer: It is a fact that the violence of women against the women recently has increased specifically in the families so much that the men have to interfere and participate in violence which cause the increment of violence in the family, for instance when a mother in law tyrannize her daughter in law, so the effects of this violence remains on the daughter in law so when she gets a daughter in law and gets a mother in law she would also tyrannize her daughter in law even she says that I have been tyrannized by mother in law she doesn’t think that this is an illegal and indecent action why I should perpetrate it, so all these events happens in remote areas and provinces where neither courts nor the security forces show reaction against.
