Najla: (Moves in her bed and talks to herself) my shoes are polished… my clothes are ironed by mom…thanks, everything is ready … oh I cannot sleep… when it will be morning? Ohh God…

Mom: (Sleepy) My daughter Najla, do you need anything? Water… you have any pain…

Najala: (Silently and with joy) No mom… what time is it?

Mom: (Silently) let me see the clock… it is half past five… you wake up early because of your school…

Najla: (Silently and with joy) yes mom! Do you know… when I remember that I am going to school today, I feel worried… how will be my teacher… how many friend will I make… therefore, I cannot sleep…

Mom: (With smile and silence) don’t worry… Inshallah you will have good teachers… you will find good friends too!

(Voice of Morning Azaan)

Najla: (With joy) listens dear mom, that is the voice of morning Azaan… let’s wake up, until we pray, you turn on the heater and prepare the morning tea it will be seven O’clock! Then carry me to school.

Father: (Sleepy) what is the problem in this early morning? You are talking too much…

Najla: (With joy) wake up father… wake up because you are going to carry me to school today or not….

(Sound of pouring tea in the glass)

Mom: (With Kindness) Najla’s father take a glass of tea… you are looking very tired

Father: (With exhaustion drink the tea) today the materials arrived… I stored all the materials in the stock! That is why I am tired! Where is Najla? How is she with her school? Is she happy or not?

Mom: (With joy) she is at home and doing her homework, why she shouldn’t be happy? She is absolutely happy!

Father: (With exhaustion) try to help her!

Mom: (Laughing) I have not studied more than class two! I only understand A and B!

Father: (Calling) Najla… Najla my daughter… come to this room… come… what are you doing in that room?

Najla: (Sound of opening the door) good morning father…

Father: (Laughing) good morning to you… come here… come, why you are looking worried? Come sit… let me see your notebook! (Sound of turning over the pages), how big you have written daughter… try to write very neat and nice… here, it is the writing of your teach… let me read…

Najla: (Uncomfortably) Yes, the teacher has written it!

Mom: (With hurry) what is the matter Najla’s father!

Father: Nothing, I am asked to come to school tomorrow!

Najla: (With Enmity) Dear father, I am not going to school anymore! No one is playing with me; everyone is calling me Hindu, saying that Tulsi is from your tribe, saying that go to India… what you are doing here… (Weeping)

Mom: They are doing badly! Let me come to your school and then I will see with them.

Father: (With sympathy) No problem daughter… don’t weep! I will talk to your teacher tomorrow!

Mom: (With anxiety) you are too late man, it is twelve o’clock…

(Coughing of father from outside and the sound of opening the door)

Najla: Good afternoon mom…

Mom: (With anxiety) Good afternoon to you… it is good that you came! What happened?… Did you talk to the teacher of her?

Father: (With kindness) Yes, I discussed! Najla daughter… go to that room and change your cloths, wash your face and hands, we are going to eat then!

Najla: (Door opening sound) well father…

Mom: (With hurry) ok now tell me why you were asked to come? What did the teacher say?

Father: (With kindness) let me relax my legs! The teacher said that Najla is very much solitaire, she is not playing with others, she is not bold enough! I also said that Najla is right here; because her class-fellows are making fun of her, she is called Hindu and this is why she has become like this!

Mom: (With hurry) and then what she said?

Father: (Deep breath) she said that she was not aware of this issue! I will talk to the students that they never make fun of others! Because every one of us is Afghan and we are all brothers and sisters!

Mom: (With joy) God bless her! From now onward I will also go to school frequently, I will ask of her so that no one hurt my daughter!

Message of Drama: All of us are Afghans and we deserve the equal right in this land, no one is allowed to insult the tribe and race of others. Insulting of the minority children cause the backwardness in them and weaken the self confidence in them.
