Farzana: (sadly) I will buy dear Negar… this is the fault of your father that he is not taking care of us… I also have not bought cloths since long back… my bags has worn out… the curtains seem to be very sun stricken and old… I should order new ones…

(voice of news from radio or TV)
Negar: (with fondling) will you not take vacation this year?
Father: (astonishingly) Vacation? What for?
Negar: (with fondling) now that the schools are on holiday… Will you not take us for a tour? The uncle and his family had gone last week to Jalalabad!
Father (loughs) dear daughter… your father is a wealthy man… she is not just an officer like me that he would not have his own authority…my vacation have been used already…have you forgotten that we went to Bamian for two weeks..? if I take again the vacation they will deduct my salary…
Mother: (uncomfortably) Negar my dear daughter! Don’t make yourself unnecessarily sad with your father… your father is not taking care of us a lot…
Father: (Uncomfortably) I am not thinking about you? Then why I am working since morning to evening?
Mother: (Uncomfortably) Work? Which work? It is better not to work instead to do this work…see I did not have any money today… the girl doesn’t has the shoes… the curtain are worn out.. See other people… what we have less than them…
Father: (Uncomfortably) I gave some money to you in these days.. Where did you spend it? How I can support all the expenses? Shall I pay for house rent? Shall provide the alimony or shall I pay the loan of the land?
Mother: (angrily) you are a man….This is your duty….
Father: (angrily) you are also a woman, you must be careful… spend less…save for yourself… that you don’t remain back than other people…I cannot do more than this…
Mother: (Uncomfortably) I don’t know more… find another job… I cannot continue such a life… what we have less than other relatives?
(the father stands and goes out of the room and hits the door and says “there is neither might nor strength but in God –This phrase is uttered during anger, Calamity and amazement”
Farzana: (angrily) Ok go… it is hard to endure the just words.

(voice of pouring the tea into teacup)
Farzana: (happily) dear aunt! Have a cup of tea… welcome to our house.. How did you remember us…?
Aunt Laila: (tiredly) Thanks dear Farzana… I had gone to my daughter’s house… my son in law he is ill since long back…
Farzana: (happily) I hope he recover… you made us happy by coming…
Aunt Laila: This morning I saw Negar’s father… he seemed to be sad…
Farzana: (worriedly) let him be sad… I conversed last night with him…
Aunt Laila: (Astonishingly) why? What for? He is a very good man…
Farzana: (worriedly) for the sake of money… for the sake of life… he is taking care of us… his money is not working… his money is enough just for rent of house, house expenses, and loan of land…no money remains for cloths and gold… we remained back of all relatives and tribe…
Aunt Laila: (advises) don’t say so my daughter…thanks God he is a good man… he is working hard… he is at duty from morning to evening… he is not jobless and wanderer…your hand is not stretched to anyone…
Farzana: (worriedly) that is right dear aunt!
Aunt Laila: (Advises) you must be helper in his good and bad days…let him pay the loan of land… he will but gold and cloth… it is not so easy to become land owner… lessen your expectation…compromise with is less and more… be grateful to God… if he was ill or jobless what would you do?
Farzana: God forbid dear aunt… I don’t have so much expectation … I just mean lest we remain behind of relatives and tribe…
Aunt Laila: Don’t worry… you will not remain behind… I mean don’t make your husband disappointed of life… keep him happy… did you understand?
Message of the drama: Provision of alimony is one of the important duties of the man but the woman’s expectation should be according to man’s ability, they both should continue the life with love, cooperation and understanding.
