Hundred students who were under three months training in the area of basic journalism course which was conducted by the expert teachers in TKG (The Killid Group) training centers were graduated on Wednesday 29th October, 2012; they received their certificates in a special ceremony.
Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Balkh and Herat are the provinces where The Killid Group with the support of European Union programs implemented the training of journalism for the betterment of life conditions of the children who are working on the roads.
The goal and target of such program by The Killid Group (TKG) is considered for the betterment of the life conditions of the children who are working on the streets.
In this ceremony, Ms. Najiba Ayubi the Managing Director of The Killid Group (TKG) requested from the other media organizations to use the graduated children in their organization.
Ayubi, “Today hundred students who were busy with the heavy work in the streets of Kabul and were identified by The Killid Group and other relevant institutions participated in a three months journalism course under the supervision of qualified trainers and are graduated now. Among the hundred students; twenty students received their trainings in Kabul and the remaining in the four provinces including Herat, Balkh, Jalalabad and Kandahar. By taking this opportunity, I request all the media organizations of the country to hire these children in their institutions until these children serve for their selves and their families”.
From the other side Mr. Ali Iftekhari, spokesman of the ministry of labor and social affairs who was also present in this ceremony expressed his appreciation and overall support regarding this action of The Killid Group (TKG), “It is the place to special thank from The Killid Group (TKG) organization, because you all know that these children are the most vulnerable layer of the society and they need a serious help and cooperation”.
These children are working in the markets, where on the streets there are possibilities that they are misused sexually, physically and in other types. The ministry of labor and social affairs, martyr & disables is totally supporting such programs and from the other side as they are from 14 – 18 years they can work and while graduating from the school they would be having a profession. Also they can very well reflect the problems of their same class children because these children have already seen these problems”.
Similarly, all of us know that children are persons who are in serious need of guidance and training and it is the responsibility of each and every person to guide the children towards the good ways; until these children who are considered as the future makers of our country could serve for people and country.
Meanwhile; Mr. Wali Bayin the head of Social Department of Aschina Organizations who cooperated with The Killid Group (TKG) in the selection of these vulnerable children says, “Creation of such programs help the children in development of their personalities and in future they could service for the society. Without doubt that we have a good cooperation with The Killid Group (TKG), in the first and second round of these trainings we have identified and introduced the street children to The Killid Group (TKG) those children who could have got something from these trainings. From the other side these children will have self-confidence and they would also be able to do the hard work as other children”.
The working children of the streets are form those people of the society who are facing many problems in our country and are always targeted of the violence in different forms like sexual harassment, smugglings, begging and many other problems; and their rights are violated from different people of the society.
Now, is the creation of such programs helpful and effective in giving the rights of the children or not? Mr. Bilal Siddiqi an employee of the independent human rights commission of Afghanistan says, “I should thank radio Killid that provided a good program and aware them from the journalism occupation; based on my point of view it is a good movement because the children in the society could serve very well for themselves, their same class of children and society, also this problem could encourage them in grabbing their rights”.
From the other side some of the children who have successfully completed the training process in spite of thanking from overseers they are saying that in the future they can solve many of their problems alone.
“I am Ahmad Wali, the training that was given to us was very good and I hope that in future I serve for the same class children, wretched women of the society and also I would like to convey the voice of wretched people to the relevant authorities”.
“I am Shamsullah, It was a very good program and I could learn good skills and now I can work like other friends to raise the voice of the people; these children can understand very well about their rights and also they can aware the other children from their rights and I request from other children to join such trainings and also study so that they serve for themselves and for the country”.
This was the second round of the journalism trainings which was conducted by the The Killid Group (TKG) with support of the European Uninon (EU) for those children who are working on the streets.
