Based on the statistics a percentage of 2.7 percent of the population of the country including one million of the people are mostly physical disabled; due to three decades of the war.
The people deem the disabled as second category or powerless and they are being seen by mercy or regret eye.
The disabled are 10 percent of world population at present as 80 of them are living in the developing countries.
According to experts; the disabled are not powerless rather they are with limitation and if possibilities and facilities are given to them, they can act as other ordinary individuals of the community even better than them.
As exercise is beneficial to the health of human being; it is counted important for disabled as well.
We have written in this report about the importance of the exercise for disabled and changes that the exercise can bring in disabled athletes.
A number of disabled say that after starting the exercise many changes occurred to their bodies and can work like other ordinary individuals.
But they are complaining about the lack of possibilities and facilities and criticize the government for its inattention on not preparation the groundwork of exercise for disabled.
The disabled athletes advise to their fellow-creatures that seclusion has no use and they should proceed toward their strengthening through exercise.
ABRAR is an organization which works for the disabled and has prepared the groundwork of exercise for disabled in bicycle driving, football, volleyball, cricket and other sport fields.
A number of disabled athletes in Nangarhar province who has started the exercise states about the importance of the exercise and the changes occurred to their physical, mental and psychological strengthening say:
The voice. My name is Habeeb Jan, I am from Nangarhar province I am disabled my right leg; I a hero of volleyball disabled team in 32 provinces I have a bicycle provided by Disabled Federation to use in competitions, until now no competition has been held by government for the disabled but ABRAR organization has had competitions in volleyball, football and bicycle driving. A number of 16 disabled are exercising with us among them there some disabled whose both legs are cut; the exercise is very beneficial to the disabled as it is beneficial to their health as well its beneficial to their economy; Habeeb Jan says I was not exercising in past but since 1996 I am doing bicycle driving which has helped my economy as well ; there is no encouragement in our country I have not gotten anything from the government if the government help and encourage me I can get world cup as well. I request other disabled to have a schedule in their life to be able to work as well as exercise.
My name is Sartor I am studying in 7th class I have disability in my leg , I play football every morning, the clothes and sport instruments have been given by ABRAR organization, the clothes and shoes are very old now ; when I was not doing exercise my leg had a lot of pain but now I don’t feel any pain in my leg.
My name is Malang Jan I am from Nagarhar I have disability in my leg; I was extremely in trouble in the beginning but when ABRAR started its activity and gave me a bicycle that I can solve my problems very well, I participated in bicycle driving competition in which I got first position.
We play volleyball three days a week; the game is not only for disabled the healthy people also participate in games.
I am exercising volleyball in ABRAR volleyball team, this organization has supplied all our requirements in sport field .We are very pleased and satisfied from ABRAR but the government has not done any work for us.
My message to other disabled is to exercise as the exercise strengthens health if they try they can solve their own, their families and their relatives problems, I have not asked anyone for help rather I have helped others.
ABRAR organization has workshops in carpentry, bicycle repairing and mechanics if the disabled want they can learn and get busy themselves.
Jan Zeb is one of the disabled from Nangarhar province who has been encouraged to football  by ABRAR organization; he says since he has started the sport he has not felt any pain in his leg or other parts of his body; Jan Zeb request other disabled that first they should study and then continue exercise because the sport is very beneficial to the health and he asks the government to pay attention to disabled seriously.
Hayat Khan Mujahed the head of Disabled’s Federation in Nangarhar who himself is a leg disabled says that is doing volleyball, football and bicycle driving through help of ABRAR organization. He says that sport is extremely beneficial to health he doesn’t any health problem and criticizes the government that the government has not done anything for them.
Dr.Abdul Baseer the director of ABRAR organization says that exercise is necessary for all people especially for disabled and it is guarantor of health of humans.
Mr.Baseer adds that ABRAR organization is active for many years in Afghanistan and has prepared groundwork of sport for disabled beside services in literacy, craft learning and medical first aids fields.
According to his words the disabled who have started the exercise due to cooperation of ABRAR, have participated in numerous national and international competitions and have had good achievements.
But the director of ABRAR organization says that disabled athletes needs a lot of possibilities and facilities therefore if attention be paid in the field of disabled athletes, one the one hand it will cause growth and health of disabled on the other hand the disabled will have many sport achievements.
Voice … Dr.Abdul Baseer the director of ABRAR organization says that the sport is very important for disabled if the disabled don’t do exercise they will go toward seclusion and will remain away from the community. ABRAR organization has trained teachers in bicycle driving, football, volleyball, basketball and lacher through which we could get good results from national and international contests for instance: the contests which took place in England our disabled could to get thirteenth position from 60 healthy individuals. A team also went to Barcelona of Spain in 1995 and in 1996 participated in Para Olympic games in United Sates of American and  could to earn good achievements for disabled and people of Afghanistan. The series of sending the disabled to external contests delayed but luckily we could to send a disabled to bicycle driving contest to Greek who two legs disabled. We also sent a team to Pakistan in 1993 and the team could to get first position. ABRAR organization also conducted numerous contests inside Afghanistan which have been valued by disabled.
Regarding the usefulness of sport I should say that we had a child affected by polio, when the child entered into exercise field it was seen after awhile that the child was totally healthy as I asked him have you ever been sick?  The exercise is extremely beneficial to disabled and healthy individuals.
As I know the Afghan government has not done any effective work for disabled but I would like ask disabled not to wait to the opportunities by government or other foundations they themselves should try for education , exercise and work in order to get the their goal.
In spite of this it is seen that disability is not weakness if the disabled want and facilities be provided for them, they will be able to act as other ordinary individuals of the community.
On the other hand the exercise can be one of the main options for the strengthening, psychological and physical growth of disabled.
At the same time the community also should change the negative viewpoint against disabled and the government should try for the strengthening the disabled and pay serious attention for preparation the exercise groundwork for disabled.
