The U.S. Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, on Saturday arrived in the capital, Kabul, and met with Afghan leaders ahead of an upcoming peace conference in Turkey.

Afghan forces on Friday carried out airstrikes, said the ministry, killing Qari Haidar, the Taliban shadow district governor for Warduj district of Badakhshan province.
As many as 21 other militants were also killed in the raids, it said.
