Ejazulhaq, a university student, said that COVID-19 vaccination was compulsory as a condition to start universities; however, there are challenges concerning the process since the vaccination drive for students began in last week.

Seyar, a student at Kabul University, said that a compulsory vaccination of university students—already trapped in the limbo of the pandemic that has shut the classes to them—has added to their problems.

Afghan Ministry of Higher Education, however, claimed the process had begun in the right way and was well underway.

The vaccination of university students were ongoing and would be finished within the next one or two weeks, said Hamid Obaidi, spokesman for the ministry.

Mirwais Alizai, spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, meanwhile, said that students can get inoculated in other vaccination centers.

Earlier, the Ministry of Higher Education had announced that it will take two weeks for the students of public and private universities to get their shots of COVID-19 vaccines.
