Afghan forces on Wednesday morning captured the district center following three-hour long clearance operation against Taliban, said Hanif Rezaiee, spokesman for the army in country’s north.
He did not comment on casualties.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
It comes as several districts have fallen to Taliban in the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of Afghanistan’s high council for national reconciliation, which oversees talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban in Doha, has denied reports that district handovers are planned.
