According to a statement by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG), under a presidential decree, Mr. Qane was hired as new governor of Herat while maintaining his military rank.
Shamim Khan Katawazi, head of the local governance directorate, traveled to the province to introduce him.
Sayed Wahid Qitali was the formerly the governor of the province.
