Targeting a minivan, the first explosion took place around 3:00pm local time in the 13th district, west of Kabul city, said Interior Ministry’s deputy spokesman Ahmad Zia Zia.
It was followed by another explosion which also targeted a minivan in the sixth district of the capital, he said.
The initial reports indicated five people were killed in the explosions.
It, however, rose to seven killed and six wounded, according to the Afghan ministry’s data.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
