According to Khost police spokesman, Najib Ahmad Najib, the first attack took place in Sabrai district on Saturday morning around 9:00 local time.
Three students were shot and killed as they were on way to Khost city. A woman wounded in the assault, the spokesman said.
It wasn’t clear who killed the students, according to him, and police investigations were underway.
Elsewhere, armed men attacked a police vehicle in Tanai district of the province around 10:00 Saturday morning.
According to the provincial police spokesman, two policemen were killed and another two wounded in the attack.
Police has begun probing into the incident.
No individual or armed group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
