The Taliban fighters have been using civilian houses as shields recently, and thus, Afghan forces are cautiously proceeding in their operations in the district, provincial police said.
More than 500 Yaftali families have been forced to flee their homes as Taliban fighters stormed residential houses, said police spokesman, Nek Mohammad Nazari.
At least eight armed Taliban have been killed and over 15 wounded so far, he added.
Two public uprising members have been also killed and another one wounded, according to the spokesman.
There is no comment from the Taliban yet.
The raids mark surge in violence in the country already torn by decades long war.
