According to a ministry’s statement, Afghan commando forces on Tuesday night rescued 62 people held as captives in a Taliban prison in Baghlan-e Markazi (Central Baghlan) district of the province.
The figures included 26 civilians and 36 security personnel, the statement read.
At least four Taliban were killed during the overnight operation, and a number of weapons seized by government forces.
The Taliban officials have yet to comment.
It third time in less than a week that Afghan forces set free prisoners from Taliban jails.
